Drums, Drummers, and Drumming

It's all about hitting things with sticks for me lately. Static Factory has been without a steady drummer (see what I did there?) for almost 6 months now. We've tried to audition some fellows, but things haven't worked out so far. I'm happy to announce that we found someone, an old friend of mine who is still playing gigs with bands in southeast Michigan area. His name is Dave, and he's damn good. You can see for yourself on his drum cover youtube channel. Give him a like and a subscribe if you like what you hear there. I'm sure he'll appreciate it. He's also playing in Stone Temple Pilots tribute band the Stone Temple Prophets, so give them a check if you're into STP, which I am.

So hopefully Static Factory can get out there with Dave and start smashing metal for audiences soon. Keep your eyes peeled on this FB page for the details as we book some shows.

Also, I'll be playing the drums tomorrow night at the Corunna Road Bar with Smokesum N Jammsum, so if you just need that rock drumming fix, you can have it as soon as tomorrow! We'll be playing a mix of originals and 80s/90s power metal, so if you don't think I can play Megadeth covers I'll be there proving you wrong. Come dare me to try and play the correct poly-rhythm at the end of Sweating Bullets.

I'll also be doing a quick 20 minutes of acoustic songs tomorrow night at the open mic at Andy's Place in Holly, because I haven't been in a while and it's a great time. I go on at 830, but I'll have to leave right after for the later gig, sadly. If you prefer acoustic work you can do much worse than hanging out at Andy's Place on a Saturday night.

In the meantime, hit something with a stick today. I do it all the time.
