I used to write on this blog every week or so. It’s always a labor of love to do that kind of thing. I’d like to get back to it, so here’s the past, present, and future of Static Factory, as of Summer 2026.
For the past, we spent the last few years writing and polishing our second record, Apocalypse Compass. It took a minute to find a new drummer who had the chops and enthusiasm for the project, but Antonio is here and fills those shoes nicely. His work on the new record is stellar.
For the present, we’ve recorded, mixed, and produced most of the followup record to 2015’s Serenity is Far Away. The new record is called Apocalypse Compass, and it’s in post-production now. Will we make vinyl? Will we make CDs? Just go digital? We’re discussing it. We are likely to create some kind of physical media, mainly because I never got into the streaming age. I like to. . .own things, I guess. I like to know that if I’m spending money, I’m getting something for it more than “access”. “Access” can be taken away. . . .
I digress. The new record has been most of our “present” for about a year now. For the future, after the release of the record we’re hoping to do some shows in support of it. I’ll announce those here when I know about them. Until then, cheers!
